SPF 50 vs SPF 100: SPF 50 is the sweet spot for most people
SPF 100 blocks only about 1% more UVB (99% vs 98%), so the tiny bump isn’t worth the extra cost or false confidence. Water resistance and reapplication matter far more than starting strength — most sunburns happen because you apply once and forget. With SPF 50, you still get decent coverage even if you skimp on amount, while SPF 100 can trick you into skipping reapplication.
