Pool cover vs alternatives: Cover is the only real option for stopping evaporation

Pool covers block 90-95% of evaporation, while liquid “evaporation reducers” are mostly snake oil and windbreaks barely help. Hot weather with wind and low humidity can lose gallons a day, and a cover also keeps heat in at night and cuts chemical use. Lowering water temperature helps but defeats the purpose of a warm summer pool.
