Manual brush height vs auto brush height: Manual is better for very different carpet types

If your carpet varies a lot, don’t rely on auto — manual adjustment gives you control. Low-pile needs a lower brush to reach fibers; high-pile needs it raised to avoid suction loss and tangling. Auto works for most carpets but can fail on extreme shag. Test each carpet type and adjust until it runs smoothly.
