Hard pad vs cloth pad for ultralight mouse: Cloth wins for control with sub-50g mice

A smooth hard pad with a 45g mouse causes overshooting because low weight and near-zero static friction make the mouse keep moving after you stop. Cloth pads give controlled glide with more dynamic friction, letting you stop precisely and micro-adjust. Hard pads work better with heavy mice or high DPI tuning, but for FPS with ultralight mice, cloth is the safer bet.
