ECC RAM vs non-ECC RAM for Plex: Non-ECC risk is negligible

For a typical Plex workload, the risk of non-ECC RAM is close to zero. Bit flips are rare on modern hardware, and Plex mostly reads media files — a flipped bit might cause a one-frame glitch, not data corruption. Real risk comes from writing bad data, but Plex’s writes are tiny and journaled. Save your money; hard drives are a bigger concern.
