ECC memory vs non-ECC memory: ECC is overkill for most setups

Frame corruption from memory errors is extremely rare with modern non-ECC RAM — you’re far more likely to see corruption from network packet loss, encoder bugs, or overheating. Unless you’re running a 24/7 professional streaming setup with zero tolerance for glitches, ECC is overkill. The money is better spent on a reliable network connection and a good encoder like NDI or a dedicated hardware encoder.
