DDR5 vs DDR4 for gaming: DDR5 won't fix your 1% lows

DDR5’s main advantage is raw bandwidth for average fps, but 1% lows depend more on latency, where well-tuned DDR4 actually beats it. In Cyberpunk 2077, the difference in 1% lows is single-digit percent, and early DDR5 kits can even cause more stutter due to timing penalties. A faster GPU or a CPU with more L3 cache (like AMD’s 3D V-Cache) will smooth out stutters far better than swapping RAM.
