Bleach vs vinegar for cooler mold: Bleach wins for heavy mold, vinegar for light mildew
Bleach kills mold at the roots in porous plastic, while vinegar only wipes surface mildew. For black spots, mix 1 tablespoon bleach per quart of water, scrub with a soft sponge, let sit 15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Vinegar works for light cases, but bleach is your best bet when mold has really taken hold.
